Henry Dunant Hospital center has been re-accredited by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), as a Center of Excellence in the surgical treatment of hernia cases. It is an international accreditation that confirms the leading position of the hospital center—which continues to be the only one in Greece with a relevant accreditation— as well as the high level of services provided, mainly in the surgical sector.

  Accreditation by the US-based non-profit organization SRC, is subject to particularly strict criteria regarding the operation of hospital centers, based on their sophisticated hernia surgery methods, as well as the use of the most modern materials.

  Henry Dunant Hospital Center’s re-accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Hernia Operation for the next three years 2018-2021, was completed after many months of recordings and thorough monitoring, which included, among other things:

• the medical team that performs hernia operations ranking at the highest level at which it was ranked in the initial assessment and international accreditation. 
• adherence to strict pre-operative and post-operative control procedures
• evaluation of the Nursing Service, the Anesthesiology Sector and the Intensive Care Unit.
• proper maintenance of medical records
• monitoring of patients’ re-hospitalization markers and procedure complications.
• continuous training of nursing staff 
• assessment of hernia cases managed in the hospital.

At the same time, the international accreditation by the Surgical Review Corporation once again featured the medical team working under the director of the 1st Surgical Department, Mr. Marios Papoudos, as a distinguished team for training the general surgeons who come from southeastern Europe for hernia operations. It should be noted that through the SRC, HDΗC’s surgical team acquires direct liaison with leading surgical centers, exchange of experience on the basis of specific cases and a constant information stream regarding progress and innovation concerning the field of hernia repair.
